Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee repairs, maintenance of the Community’s structure, equipment and grounds, and to report to the Executive Director.

This role requires coordinating staff, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintaining essential building systems. The supervisor will ensure 24/7 availability for maintenance emergencies and manage budgets while following facility policies for hiring, orientation, and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Community’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC or Unit Manager.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Community grounds must be maintained in an orderly fashion; free from hazards, debris and clutter.
• Responsible for maintaining the building including painting, replacing worn tiles, repairing furniture, locks, baseboards, trim, windows, etc.
• Responsible for assuring the electrical system and all electrical appliances are in good working condition; plumbing in working order and in good repair.
• Organize fire drills and assure fire safety equipment is in working order and inspected regularly.
• Maintain Community equipment (washers, dryers, boilers, AC, furnaces, lawn mowers) and assist staff in moving residents/furniture.
• Assures 24-hour availability of maintenance emergencies.
• Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, fire safety, and building, electric and plumbing codes.
• Ensures staff compliance with Residents’ Rights.
• Staff the maintenance department and manage budgets; inform property manager before spending beyond budget.
