Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee repairs, building, equipment, and grounds at our community in Algona, IA. The role reports to the Executive Director and ensures safety, compliance, and reliable operations.

The candidate will manage maintenance staff, schedule preventative maintenance, coordinate with residents and staff, and respond to emergencies. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Community’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC or Unit Manager.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Regular worksite attendance.
• Maintain Community grounds in orderly fashion; ensure sidewalks and drives are free of hazards.
• Maintain building including painting, tile repair, furniture, locks, baseboards, trim, windows.
• Ensure electrical systems and appliances are in good working order; plumbing in good repair.
• Organize fire drills and ensure safety equipment is inspected regularly.
• Maintain community equipment (washers, dryers, boilers, AC, furnaces, lawn mowers).
• Ensure 24-hour availability for maintenance emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and Residents’ Rights.
• Staff maintenance department; hiring, orientation, discipline; manage budgets and expenditures.
