Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. seeks a Maintenance worker to repair and maintain the facility’s structure, equipment, and grounds, ensuring safe, functional operations.

You will follow facility policies, protect resident confidentiality, and respond to emergencies as needed. The role includes handling electrical/plumbing systems, fire safety, and routine upkeep while coordinating with staff and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building, equipment, and grounds of the Facility.
• Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator, Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
• Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Keep sidewalks and drives free from hazards, debris and clutter; ensure repairs are up to standard.
• Maintain electrical systems, appliances, plumbing, and general repairs.
• Organize fire drills and ensure fire safety equipment is inspected regularly.
• Assist staff in moving residents and furniture as needed.
• Ensure 24-hour availability of maintenance for emergencies.
• Comply with State and Federal regulations including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, fire safety, and building, electric and plumbing codes.
• Ensure Residents’ Rights are respected and upheld.
