Job summary

Lake Metroparks is seeking a Farmpark Facility Manager to oversee daily facility operations, coordinate construction projects, manage rentals and events, supervise staff, and ensure safety and cleanliness across Farmpark’s facilities.

The role requires coordinating resources, maintaining accessibility, and delivering welcoming experiences for visitors, with flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or certificate in facilities management, construction management, building maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in facility operations, construction supervision, building maintenance, or a comparable operational setting required.
• Prior supervisory experience required, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance feedback, and coordination of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees, as well as volunteers.
• Experience coordinating facility rentals, special events, public facility use, or related operational activities preferred.
• Demonstrated experience assisting with budget preparation, monitoring expenditures, managing resources, and prioritizing operational projects required.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, building maintenance practices, and safe equipment operation required.

Responsibilities

• Follow applicable safety procedures and report hazards to maintain a safe environment for participants and staff.
• Manage daily operations for Farmpark’s Facilities Department, including coordinating employees and resources.
• Supervise full-time, part-time, seasonal employees and volunteers, including scheduling and training.
• Coordinate facility rental setup and special events in collaboration with other departments.
• Collaborate with the Farmpark Landscape and Grounds Manager to support park maintenance and operations.
• Oversee facility maintenance, construction activities, and equipment repairs with contractors and internal teams.
• Maintain high visitor service standards and the overall guest experience at Farmpark locations.
• Assist with annual operating budgets, monitoring expenses, and capital improvement planning.
• Maintain operational records and required documentation per agency procedures.
• Coordinate with staff, contractors, and partners to ensure safe, efficient operations.
