Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manager of Facilities in Austin, TX to lead a diverse team ensuring reliable services across multiple sites. You will manage scheduling, safety, and project execution while coordinating with site leadership to improve processes and reduce downtime.

The role requires strong communication, hands-on HVAC/building systems experience, and the ability to oversee contractors and national travel as needed. On-site work and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 3+ years of hands-on facility/ HVAC experience.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Experience with building management systems and HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse team of technicians to ensure zero unplanned interruption in services.
• Manage scheduling and forecasting, career development, and safety/compliance.
• Work with sites leadership to plan, resource, and execute projects for efficiency improvements.
• Review work instructions and outcomes to improve processes in the work center.
• Assess resource needs and support lifecycle costs.
• Oversee contractors for facilities infrastructure maintenance to ensure standards and timely delivery.
• Manage preventative maintenance across sites and develop repair/replacement priorities.
• Track KPIs like safety metrics, quality metrics, labor trends, and operating expenses.
• Provide on-call 24/7 support for facility-related troubleshooting or emergency repairs.
