Job summary

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL, seeks a hands-on Facilities Manager to maintain buildings, grounds, and safety. The role reports to the Operations Executive Director and oversees operations, preschool facilities, and campus use to support worship and community programs.

The position is onsite in Naperville with a 4-day workweek plus Sunday morning duties; compensation ranges $65K–$70K with benefits and retirement contributions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Building Maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Experience in church or nonprofit maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, volunteers and members.
• Knowledge of bid proposals, contracts, and vendor management.
• Familiarity with facility-related technology and controls.

Responsibilities

• Respond to repair needs and emergencies; coordinate vendors for repairs.
• Coordinate bids and contracts for ongoing maintenance and capital improvements.
• Serve as Facility Scheduler coordinating building use with staff and ministries.
• Oversee cleaning, safety, and security programs and signage.
• Manage budget for Facilities and Maintenance; track assets and warranties.
• Supervise staff and volunteers, training, scheduling, and reviews.
