Job summary

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee the campus, preschool facilities and grounds, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for worship, education, and community activities. The role reports to the Operations Executive Director and guides staff, volunteers and vendors to maintain building operations and mission impact.

The position is onsite in Naperville, IL, with full-time hours including some Sunday oversight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of building maintenance experience.
• Experience at a church or nonprofit is a plus.
• Commitment to the church’s mission and values.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, volunteers and members.

Responsibilities

• Respond to repair needs and emergencies; hire vendors for various trades.
• Coordinate bids and contracts for repairs, maintenance and improvements.
• Schedule and manage building use, access, setup and cleanup.
• Oversee cleaning, safety and compliance with local codes.
• Maintain security, phone systems and facility-related technology.
• Supervise staff and volunteers; recruit, train and review performance.
• Develop and manage the Facilities and Maintenance budget.
