Large manufacturing company in San Leandro CA is looking for a strong facilities manager. Looking for someone with a strong background in HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Refrigeration, ETC.
Salary: $120k-$140k with a 15% target bonus
Schedule: Mon-Fri: 6am-3pm with flexibility with being on call when needed
The Facilities Manager oversees the physical infrastructure and sub-systems of the manufacturing facility, distribution center, and administrative offices. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, the Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the facility.
Develops facilities plans for the physical infrastructure and infrastructure sub-systems.
Manage all utility service contractors.
Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
Manage capital projects up to and above $3MM related to the facility's physical infrastructure and infrastructure sub-systems.
Supervise utilities technicians.
Ensure the efficient operation of utilities systems (e.g., steam, refrigeration, compressed air, etc.).
Maintains facilities and grounds according to AIB/FDA standards.
Manages relationships with facilities contractors, including selection and performance review
Manage facility projects and contractors
Responsible for the maintenance, operation, reliability, and efficiency of critical infrastructure equipment, including power distribution, HVAC, refrigeration, steam generation and distribution, building and grounds, fire systems, and compressed air. Provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for all facility systems.
Develops and maintains the master plan, project scope, budget, timeline and success criteria for facilities projects
Responsible for the execution of facilities related capital projects
Responsible for training to train local technician personnel on all applicable policies and procedures
Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
Participate in the environmental and sustainability company initiatives as a subject mater expert for utility systems
Participates in process improvement teams and other Continuous Improvement initiatives as needed
BS/A Degree in Engineering or a related field and 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred background in food or pharmaceuticals; experience in an FDA-regulated facility is desired
Effective collaboration skills across all levels, functions, and departments
Experience managing projects over $300K
Knowledge of EHSS (environmental, health, safety, security) requirements in a food production plant
Ability to work effectively in a Union environment
Experience directly supervising technicians
Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD; ERP knowledge is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong oral and written presentation skills
Must be able to work seated or standing for at least 8 hours
Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs
Travel is required, the amount of travel is dependent on the projects being managed
Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail
Generally, works in a regular office environment
In support of projects, working in the field is occasionally required
Conditions in the field include:
Ability to climb stairs and ladders; must be able to work from heights
Exposure to vibration, moving mechanical parts and loud noise
Capable of using protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes, hearing protection, air masks, respirators, etc. in the performance of job duties
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and will be exposed to heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, confined spaces, elevated areas, dirt, ash particles and fuel particles
