Position: Facilities Manager
Location: Orange, CA
Pay: This position has a fixed rate of $115,000/year
Experience
- 5+ years of progressive facilities management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment is required.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience is required.
- 3+ years of project management experience is required.
Education
- Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field is required. Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
- Facilities Management Professional certification is preferred.
Job Description
- Responsible for behaving in a professional manner both internally and externally in relationships that positively impact the company's reputation and comply with the company's policies and practices.

- Leadership responsibilities include selection, development, performance management, and continuous recalibration of staff; ensures appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation; performs administrative tasks associated with timekeeping, pay, performance, policy administration, and other matters related to employment.
- Assesses staff and provides timely and consistent feedback regarding technical proficiency and effectiveness. Provides constructive feedback, guidance, and reinforcement to employees regarding job performance. Works with staff to identify work goals and create individual development plans. Evaluates training programs to ensure content meets staff needs.
- Oversees daily facility operations including building systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, electrical systems, plumbing, compressed air systems, fire protection systems, and security systems.
- Manages facility maintenance personnel, contractors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Supervises custodial staff, ensures task schedules are followed, cleaning standards are met, and consumable supplies are ordered, received, and distributed.
- Plans, prioritizes, and coordinates facility repairs, renovations, capital improvement projects, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Develops, implements, and manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs for buildings, grounds, utilities, and facility equipment.
- Manages the Facilities department's quality management system. Assigns training to personnel.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, environmental regulations, building codes, and fire safety standards.
- Supports Environmental Health and Safety initiatives and partners with leadership to maintain a safe work environment.
- Oversees facility security systems, access control systems, surveillance systems, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Ensures that employees' work hours and leave are accurately recorded, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner in the timekeeping system.
- Develops and manages departmental budgets, monitors expenditures, and identifies opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Coordinates inspections, audits, permits, and regulatory agency interactions related to facilities management.
- Manages vendor relationships, negotiates service contracts, evaluates contractor performance, and ensures compliance with contractual obligations.
- Maintains facility records, maintenance logs, equipment inventories, and regulatory documentation.
- Supports manufacturing operations by ensuring facility systems and infrastructure meet production, quality, and customer requirements.
- Coordinates space planning activities, office moves, workstation layouts, and facility utilization initiatives.
- Leads facility-related business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency response planning efforts.
- Provides recommendations to leadership regarding facility improvements, capital investments, and long-term infrastructure planning.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of building systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, security, and fire protection systems is required.
- Experience managing facility maintenance programs, contractors, and capital projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and building codes is required.
- Experience developing and managing budgets is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication, time management and presentation skills are required.
- Experience supporting clean room, laboratory, aerospace, defense, electronics, or medical device manufacturing Environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other regulated manufacturing standard is preferred.
- Certified lean manufacturing six sigma green/black belt is preferred.
