Job summary

Hudson is seeking a Maintenance Manager III for the John F. Kennedy Airport Distribution Center to oversee maintenance staff and ensure facility readiness.

You will lead daily operations, implement preventative maintenance, and manage capital projects with strict adherence to codes and standards. You will partner with site leadership on budgets, drive cost-effective investments, and maintain strong vendor relationships while upholding OSHA safety practices across all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Requires 2 years of formal post-high school education in building trades.
  • OSHA-10 Certification for Construction and General Industries.
  • HVAC and building infrastructure knowledge; refrigeration a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills; manage multiple maintenance operations.
  • Experience supervising maintenance teams; budget accountability.

Job description

The Maintenance Manager III at John F. Kennedy Airport Distribution Center, is responsible for overseeing maintenance staff and servicing all branch equipment and facilities. This position ensures that all utility systems and equipment are fully operational and inspected in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules, coordinating the repair and installation of equipment in compliance with local/state codes and standards while managing vendor relationships and capital project activity.


Role Overview:


  • Lead a high-impact maintenance function by overseeing daily operations, scheduling, and performance of a skilled team to ensure seamless facility operations across all shifts

  • Own facility reliability through the design and execution of preventative maintenance programs spanning electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and critical equipment

  • Drive projects from concept to completion by leading equipment installations, renovations, and capital improvements while ensuring compliance with all codes and standards

  • Act as a key business partner collaborating with site leadership to manage budgets, control costs, and prioritize investments that support operational excellence

  • Build and manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery, contract compliance, and cost-effective solutions

  • Champion safety and compliance by upholding OSHA standards, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of accountability and safe work practices

  • Serve as the go-to technical expert for complex maintenance challenges, leading rapid response and resolution to minimize downtime and disruption

  • Develop and grow a high-performing team through coaching, training, and performance management, building bench strength and future leaders

  • Deliver data-driven insights by maintaining accurate records, analyzing performance, and reporting on maintenance operations and capital project progress


Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:



  • Requires 2 years of formal post-high school education in building trades, including Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Small Appliance Repair certification

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience in high volume and/or multi-unit operations or other related management experience; maintenance experience in Food and Beverage or Merchandise operations preferred


Specialized Training:


  • Requires OSHA-10 Certification for Construction and General Industries

  • Requires a strong knowledge of HVAC and building infrastructures; experience with restaurant equipment and/or refrigeration preferred

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent maintenance operations and ensure operational continuity

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising and developing maintenance teams while maintaining accountability for performance and compliance standards

  • Analytical and financial acumen with ability to manage department budgets, evaluate vendor contracts, and identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or safety

  • Problem-solving abilities to resolve complex technical maintenance issues, serve as an escalation resource, and drive corrective action across a high-volume location


Reporting Relationship

This position typically reports to the Distribution Center Director


Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require
