Arylessence, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of all buildings, grounds, and equipment at our Georgia site. You will ensure GMP/SOP/SQF adherence and manage capital projects and budgets.

The role requires 10+ years in facility maintenance with 5+ years in leadership, plus strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and plant infrastructure. You will lead a maintenance team and coordinate with contractors to minimize disruptions.

• Minimum 10 years of facility maintenance experience.

Description

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, functionality, and efficiency of all buildings, grounds, and equipment for an automated fragrance and flavor manufacturer. The position requires strict adherence to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and SQF guidelines to ensure product quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency.

Essential Functions:

Facilities Management

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
• Responsible for all monthly inspections, testing, and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machinery, warehouse equipment, and building systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Ensure reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, fire protection, security, and other building systems including production equipment and forklift fleet.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, service providers, and facility-related vendors.
• Inspect, operate, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Prioritize and coordinate corrective maintenance activities to minimize operational disruptions.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Maintain equipment maintenance logs, certifications, and regulatory inspection records.
• Record maintenance records, inspection reports, permits, and compliance documentation.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technician(s) and support personnel.
• Establish performance expectations and accountability measures for maintenance team.
• Create staffing plans and schedules to support facility requirements.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSH, EPA, local building codes, and company safety standards.
• Maintain all required permits, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
• Participate in facility safety audits and corrective action initiatives.
• Support emergency response and facility preparedness activities.

Capital Projects, Vendor Management & Budget Oversight

• Partner with the Plant Manager to execute facility improvement and capital projects from planning through completion.
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including quotations, performance, safety compliance, and service agreements.
• Support maintenance and facilities budgets, control expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and track key maintenance performance metrics.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of facility maintenance experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, air compressors, welding, forklift maintenance and building infrastructure.
• Experience in welding and piping.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair facility and warehouse equipment.
• Experience operating and maintaining material handling equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, preventive maintenance practices, and facility operations.
• Working knowledge of PLC driven equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops, and inspect mechanical spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in manufacturing and warehouse environments, including varying temperatures and noise levels.
