Position Overview: The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of ThayerMahan's facilities in Groton, CT. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in facilities management, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the maintenance and operation of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
  2. Conduct regular inspections to ensure facilities meet safety and regulatory standards.
  3. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  4. Manage relationships with contractors and service providers, including negotiating contracts and overseeing work.
  5. Coordinate and supervise renovation and refurbishment projects.
  6. Ensure proper security measures are in place and maintained, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  7. Monitor and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
  8. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and training sessions.
  9. Prepare reports on maintenance, repairs, safety, and other occurrences for supervisors and relevant staff.
  10. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance and safety programs.
  • Experience with budget management and financial planning.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the maritime or defense industry.
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, Facility Management Professional).
