Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Central Energy Plant Manager to oversee multi-site energy operations, maintenance, and team leadership. You will mentor the owner on energy strategies, coordinate EPC activities, and ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards across the facility portfolio.

The role emphasizes training Plant Operators, developing operating manuals, and optimizing energy usage while managing subcontractors and asset teams. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years managing multiple sites or central plant roles

• Preferred: ABET-accredited 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree
• Preferred: PE or FE and working toward PE

• Coordinate on-site troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts with remote support services
• Manage one or multiple teams consisting of one or more Asset Managers

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience managing multiple sites and/or multiple Assistant Asset Manager/Asset Manager I/II roles, or managing a central plant or facility, or mechanical construction with a large mechanical subcontractor or MEP design consultant
• Well versed in building codes and associated standards
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
• 10–25% travel to job sites/office location
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
• Ability to work in tight and confined spaces
• Ability to remain stationary, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
• Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Preferred: 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
• Preferred: PE, or FE and working toward obtaining PE
