Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Facility Maintenance Leader to provide leadership and management for a hospital campus maintenance area, including clinics and related properties.

You will coordinate with HTM, Food Services, Environmental Services and Public Safety to maintain an exceptional Environment of Care and ensure safe, compliant operations. Strong communication and leadership are essential in this healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• 1-year trade school or equivalent experience in building maintenance.
• 2 years in progressive building maintenance; 1 year of leadership experience.
• Valid Driver's License for all Mercy locations; Tank Operator training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and management control for a facility maintenance area.
• Coordinate with HTM, Food Services, Environmental Services, Public Safety and Emergency Management as required.
• Ensure effective Environment of Care across hospital campus, clinics and leased properties.
• Oversee safety, compliance and operations within Mercy Health facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• 1-year trade school specializing in electricity, HVAC, refrigeration, or building maintenance. In lieu of trade school, experience as outlined below will be considered.

Experience

• In lieu of trade school specialization, 2 years' experience in a progressive building maintenance position will be considered.
• 1 year of leadership experience.

Licensure

• Valid Driver's License for all Mercy locations.
• Class A/B Tank Operator Training and Certification required for all Mercy locations. Must achieve certification within 90 days of employment.

Skills, Knowledge Abilities

Interpersonal and communication skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to be flexible and creative in developing solutions that deliver results. Must maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously and to adapt to rapidly changing schedules, priorities, and workflow. Must have sound judgment and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills that deliver practical solutions. Ability to make programmatic changes and decisions derived from data and or regulatory research. Must be able to type and proficient with use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

• 2-year degree in HVAC, Industrial Electricity, or Refrigeration.

Experience

• Healthcare experience preferred. 5 years supervising facility maintenance staff.
