Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Groundskeeping and facility upkeep including landscaping and seasonal outdoor maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety, building codes, OSHA standards and emergency procedures.
• Ability to plan, schedule maintenance, manage work orders and track supplies/inventory.
• Strong communication with staff, guests, vendors and volunteers in a courteous, professional manner.

Role Description

The Facilities Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Burbank, OH, responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficient operation of Inspiration Hills’ buildings, grounds, and infrastructure. This role includes planning and performing routine and preventative maintenance, coordinating repairs, and managing seasonal tasks such as landscaping, snow removal, and upkeep of recreational areas and camp facilities. The Facilities Manager monitors facility conditions, identifies improvement needs, and works with vendors and contractors for specialized services, while maintaining inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, supporting the preparation and teardown for events and retreats, and responding promptly to urgent maintenance issues. The position collaborates closely with camp leadership and staff to provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Candidates should possess skills in groundskeeping and facility upkeep, such as landscaping, equipment operation, and seasonal outdoor maintenance.
• Candidates should possess skills in safety and compliance, including knowledge of building codes, OSHA or similar safety standards, and emergency response procedures.
• Candidates should possess skills in planning and organization, including scheduling maintenance, managing work orders, and tracking supplies and equipment inventory.
• Candidates should possess skills in communication and collaboration, including the ability to work with staff, guests, vendors, and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in facilities or property management (preferably in camps, retreat centers, schools, or hospitality settings), ability to perform physical tasks and lift moderate weights, and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience managing budgets for maintenance and repairs, familiarity with basic computer tools (email, spreadsheets, maintenance logs), and a commitment to the mission and values of Inspiration Hills are highly desirable.
