Job summary

Echoing Hills Village Inc. seeks a Camp Operations Caretaker to maintain a safe, welcoming camping facility and support program operations, respite weekends, and guest groups.

On-site housing may be available, and you will work with staff, volunteers, and mission teams to prepare facilities and equipment. Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance, assisting with camper preparation, supervising volunteers, and ensuring food safety and pool operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; advanced certification preferred.
  • Experience in the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities field, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, or related fields preferred.
  • Prior missionary, volunteer, or volunteer supervision experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical, building, maintenance, or facilities skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for meetings, training events, and travel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate maintenance for camp facilities, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and property.
  • Prepare facilities and program areas for camp programs, respite weekends, and guest groups.
  • Coordinate camp projects with volunteers and mission teams.
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and project assignments.
  • Maintain schedules for camp vehicles and coordinate maintenance with the Maintenance Director.
  • Open and close the camp swimming pool and test chemical levels.
  • Assist with food safety certification and kitchen compliance.
  • Participate in staff trainings and represent Echoing Hills Village consistent with its mission.

Job Summary

The Camp Operations Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a beautiful, safe, and welcoming camping facility while supporting the preparation and operation of Camp Echoing Hills programs, respite weekends, and guest groups. This position coordinates general maintenance and improvement needs, works alongside volunteers and mission teams to complete camp projects, and assists with facility upkeep at the Corporate Office. The position also supports the mission and purpose of Echoing Hills by representing the Ministry's vision and values while working with staff, volunteers, campers, guests, and community partners. On-site housing may be available.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate general maintenance and improvement needs for camp facilities, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and other property.
  • Work with camp leadership to prepare facilities, program areas, specialized activities, and camper luggage for camp programs, respite weekends, and guest groups.
  • Work alongside volunteers and mission teams to coordinate and complete camp projects and activity preparation.
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and project assignments while developing positive relationships with volunteers and mission teams.
  • Maintain schedules for camp side-by-sides and other vehicles and coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Director and operations team.
  • Open and close the camp swimming pool and test chemical levels.
  • Assist with general facilities upkeep at the Corporate Office as requested by the Maintenance Director.
  • Maintain current food safety certification and assist with kitchen compliance with applicable food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Participate in camp staff training, meetings, programs, special events, and activities.
  • Represent Camp Echoing Hills in a manner consistent with the vision, mission, and values of Echoing Hills Village.
  • May participate in the Camp Travel Program as a caregiver and/or driver, as assigned and qualified.
  • Assist with special projects, fundraisers, events, committees, emergency situations, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid driver's license, insurable driver's record according to the Echoing Hills Village insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation for meetings, training events, and other business-related travel.
  • A demonstrated Christian background and a demonstrated ability to fulfill the mission and purpose of the Ministry.
Working Conditions

This position works in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and requires a flexible schedule based on seasonal camp operations, weekend activities, travel requirements, and organizational needs. Hours may vary, and occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and overnight stays may be required. Frequent local travel and occasional statewide or national travel may be required. This position requires on-call availability for emergencies. The position may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 45 pounds independently. On-site housing may be available.
