OUR SAVIOURS LUTHERAN CHURCH in Arlington Heights is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and daily operations of its buildings and grounds. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all.

Qualifications

Purpose of Facilities Manager:

Oversee the maintenance, security, and daily operations of church buildings and grounds to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee care of the building & property, ensuring grounds are clean, well maintained, and secure
• Routinely walk the facility and grounds to ensure facilities are in a safe, well maintained, and clean condition
• Coordinate snow removal during winter months
• Oversee set up of rooms, and schedule volunteers for times when unable to do so personally
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure that equipment is maintained and functional:
  • Research and obtain bids
  • Negotiate contracts in accordance with OSLC’s governing documents
  • Schedule meetings with vendors
  • Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
  • Follow up on issues, contract renewals, etc.
• Direct janitorial/cleaning of the building
• Ensure compliance with all fire codes and licensure requirements through scheduling of assessments and maintaining records on equipment and repairs
• Receive calls as the first point of contact for off-hour emergencies
• Implement a system to document and resolve all maintenance & property concerns from staff, members, and vendors

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or comparable experience
• Knowledge of facility maintenance, equipment, and procedures
• Familiarity with business procedures including researching and obtaining bids
• Possess good judgment and strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Adherence to OSHA standards regarding cleaning & maintenance

Proficiency or Familiarity With:

• Microsoft Word
• Google products
• Emergency First Aid/CPR certified or ability to be certified

Working Relationships:

• Reports to Lead Pastor
• Liaison to Property Team, Landscape Team, Emergency Response Team, and regular property volunteers

Compensation & Benefits

$25-$30 per hour depending on experience
