Purpose of Facilities Manager:
Oversee the maintenance, security, and daily operations of church buildings and grounds to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee care of the building & property, ensuring grounds are clean, well maintained, and secure
- Routinely walk the facility and grounds to ensure facilities are in a safe, well maintained, and clean condition
- Coordinate snow removal during winter months
- Oversee set up of rooms, and schedule volunteers for times when unable to do so personally
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure that equipment is maintained and functional:
- Research and obtain bids
- Negotiate contracts in accordance with OSLC’s governing documents
- Schedule meetings with vendors
- Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
- Follow up on issues, contract renewals, etc.
- Direct janitorial/cleaning of the building
- Ensure compliance with all fire codes and licensure requirements through scheduling of assessments and maintaining records on equipment and repairs
- Receive calls as the first point of contact for off-hour emergencies
- Implement a system to document and resolve all maintenance & property concerns from staff, members, and vendors
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or comparable experience
- Knowledge of facility maintenance, equipment, and procedures
- Familiarity with business procedures including researching and obtaining bids
- Possess good judgment and strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Adherence to OSHA standards regarding cleaning & maintenance
Proficiency or Familiarity With:
- Microsoft Word
- Google products
- Emergency First Aid/CPR certified or ability to be certified
Working Relationships:
- Reports to Lead Pastor
- Liaison to Property Team, Landscape Team, Emergency Response Team, and regular property volunteers
Compensation & Benefits
$25-$30 per hour depending on experience
