Schaeffer Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Supervisor for its St. Louis plant and office buildings.

The Facilities Manager will oversee maintenance staff, manage the plant and office buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure safety and functionality. Responsibilities include performing repairs, negotiating with service providers, inspecting facilities for safety and cleanliness, and coordinating renovations. This role reports to the VP of Production.

• Manage maintenance and custodial staff
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas
• Oversee janitorial services and inspect facilities regularly
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and landscaping systems
• Coordinate repairs with outside vendors
• Maintain security systems and collaborate with security vendors
• Prepare reports on maintenance, safety, and repairs
• Prepare facilities for weather changes
• Assist in budgeting and recommend efficiency improvements

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and building systems
• Experience with boilers and relevant certifications or willingness to obtain them
• Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
• Valid driver’s license to travel between sites
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks (lift, bend, stand)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for report writing

Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
