Job summary

The City of Edmonds is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting, masonry and locksmith duties. You will maintain, repair and renovate city buildings and equipment, and prepare records of work performed.

New hires start between $6,895.00 and $7,600.50 per month with placement based on qualifications and experience. The full wage scale ranges from $6,895.00 to $8,380.00 per month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required and implies completion of basic trades knowledge.
• Three years of responsible journey-level maintenance experience in one or more building trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance, repair and renovation of City buildings, facilities and equipment.
• Carry out carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, locksmithing and other trades as needed.
• Design, construct, repair and refinishes cabinets and woodwork.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and maintain records of work performed.
• Assist with remodeling, space upgrades and project coordination as directed.
• Supervise projects as a crew leader when assigned.
