FAIRHAVEN CHRISTIAN RETIREMENT CENTER in Rockford, IL is seeking a Facilities Operations / Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks across the campus.

The role includes completing work orders, basic electrical/plumbing/HVAC repairs, and life-safety inspections, with possible snow removal and on-call shifts. Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work independently is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physical maintenance work.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using power tools, maintenance equipment, and snow removal equipment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and Fairhaven policies.
• Comfortable working in a Christian retirement community.
• Available for on-call rotations, snow crew assignments, and occasional overtime.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance and repair work orders.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Perform Life Safety Code inspections and maintenance.
• Assist with facility setups, grounds work, and snow removal.
• Complete general handyman tasks such as replacing light bulbs, batteries, and toilet seats.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests as needed.
• Assist with janitorial tasks when necessary.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.
