Job summary

Bridge Over Troubled Waters is seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician in Boston, MA. The role involves diagnosing problems, performing repairs across carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and related tasks, and coordinating with the Facilities and Operations Manager on maintenance requests.

The position requires 2–3 years in a maintenance role; familiarity with nonprofit homelessness settings is preferred.

Qualifications

2-3 years’ experience in a maintenance-level position or related field required.
Experience in a nonprofit homelessness setting preferred.
Basic understanding and execution of the trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry etc) required.
Able to work on roofs/gutters, basements and foundations in tight areas and construction zones.
Wallpaper/Painting including use of paint sprayer necessary.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
Makel minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry related repairs, as necessary. Works with vendors to complete permitting on large-scale projects.
Coordinates and assists with departmental, resident and employee moves.
Hangs pictures, office decor and shelving etc., as needed.
Dismantles and installs furniture.
Transports goods or equipment as assigned.
