Job summary

The City of Tucson is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist in the General Services Department to perform maintenance, repair, and remodeling tasks across City facilities. The role includes planning, project estimates, material orders, and possible project lead duties under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include 2 years of relevant experience, 6 months post high school education, and an unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License.

Qualifications

• Education: 6 months post high school.
• Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Equivalency: Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance tasks including drywall, frames, doors, windows, masonry, cabinetry, countertops, fencing, and carpentry.
• Reviews project instructions, plans, and sketches for understanding requirements.
• Places orders and purchases materials for replacements and repairs.
• Maintains tool inventory and keeps vehicles clean and organized.
