Job summary

The City of Tucson, General Services Department, seeks a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to perform maintenance, repair, and remodeling services for City facilities, interior and exterior structures. Under supervision of the Carpentry Supervisor, you will plan, construct, and may lead remodeling projects; this is an onsite, non-supervisory role.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing drywall, doors, windows, cabinetry, and flooring; reviewing plans; ordering materials; tracking

Qualifications

• Six months post high school education requirement.
• Two years of relevant work experience.
• Valid and unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance tasks including drywall, frames, doors, windows, cabinetry, flooring and carpentry.
• Reviews project instructions, plans and sketches to understand requirements.
• Place orders and purchase materials for replacements and repairs.
• Reconciles procurement card invoices and enters charges in ERP systems.
• Responds to inquiries via phone, email and on-site visits.
• Attends safety meetings and trainings; maintains tool inventory.
