Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician Associate to support property operations. You will ensure that mechanical systems and equipment are functional and that common areas are well maintained, clean, and safe for residents and staff.

This full-time role is 40 hours weekly (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) with match, and paid holidays; occasional travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision-making abilities are necessary.
• Ability to maintain positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong maintenance and repair skills, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• CPO Certification
• 2-3 years pool experience

Responsibilities

• Performs routine walking inspections of floors in order to identify problems and report them to supervisors.
• Maintains work equipment in good working condition.
• Performs maintenance repairs in the common areas such as drywall, carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring, and other general maintenance.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• While following safety procedures, performs casual labor (e.g., such as moving heavy items) as directed by supervisors.
• Performs maintenance replacement and repair in areas of carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other minor building repairs as long as a permit is not required to conduct the job.
• Must be able to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
• Other duties as needed.
