Job summary

The Fitzpatrick Collaborative seeks a Facilities & Maintenance Technician (Part-Time) to help maintain our community center. You will handle routine building maintenance, light custodial tasks, event setup, and safety inspections to keep the space welcoming for guests, renters, participants, and staff.

  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the building.
  • Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other routine maintenance items.
  • Report major maintenance needs to the Executive Director.
  • Help ensure facilities are clean and ready for participants.
  • Pick up litter and maintain outdoor spaces.
  • Conduct routine safety walkthroughs to identify concerns and ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Facilities & Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)
Position Summary

The Facilities & Maintenance Assistant helps maintain The Fitzpatrick Collaborative's building and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for community members, program participants, renters, and staff. This position performs general maintenance, light custodial work, event setup, and routine facility inspections. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and enjoys hands-on work while taking pride in maintaining a community-centered facility.

Facility Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the building.

Complete basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, and general repair tasks.

Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other routine maintenance items.

Report major maintenance needs to the Executive Director.

Event & Program Support

Help ensure facilities are clean and ready for participants.

Grounds Maintenance

Pick up litter and maintain outdoor spaces.

Perform seasonal tasks such as light landscaping, weeding, and snow/ice treatment around entrances and walkways.

Assist with lawn care and other exterior maintenance as needed.

Safety

Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify maintenance or safety concerns.

Help maintain a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience in building maintenance, custodial services, facilities, or a related field preferred.

Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques.

Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Friendly, dependable, and customer-service oriented.

Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule

This is a part-time position averaging 10 hours per week . Work hours are flexible and may include occasional evenings or weekends to support special events or facility rentals.

Compensation

$25.00 per hour
