Job summary

Dickson County Schools is seeking a General Maintenance worker to support the Maintenance Department. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years in maintenance, with preference for a maintenance certification and a Tennessee driver's license.

The position involves flexible hours, on-call duties, and daily field assignments. The incumbent will perform semi-skilled repairs, assist skilled trades, and conduct routine preventive maintenance across district

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Three (3) years experience in Maintenance (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction).
Maintenance certification preferred.
Current valid Tennessee driver's license.

Responsibilities

Make semi-skilled repairs to buildings, equipment, and/or grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
Perform preventative maintenance; lubricate, replace filters, belts, and bearings as needed.
Make adjustments and repairs to locks on doors, cabinets, and furniture.
Assist with relocations of desks, tables, chairs, and other furnishings.
Clean debris from roofs and gutters; perform minor patchwork.
Carry out minor carpentry work on partitions, walls, doors, fences, and shelves.
Test and repair emergency lighting as required.
Identify plumbing issues and perform minor repairs to systems.
Make minor electrical repairs; assist licensed staff for major repairs.
Operate power tools and maintain safe working conditions.
