Job summary

Self, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment. You will perform basic repairs or preventative maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC, following a schedule set by the Facilities Manager.

The role requires strong communication, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work with external vendors as needed. Applicants may be on-call after hours and weekends to support emergency repairs.

Qualifications

• Must have effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Criminal background clearance will be required.
• Strong basic repair skills across trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and landscaping as directed.
• Follow routine maintenance schedules for major systems like plumbing and HVAC.
• Maintain tool security and inventory; report issues using the maintenance work order system.
• Assess repair scope and communicate status to Facilities Manager promptly.
• Perform repairs within established timeframes; support outside vendors when needed.
• Be available for rotating on-call emergency repairs after hours and weekends.
• Inspect health, safety, and code compliance; report findings in writing to Facilities Manager.
• Coordinate with staff to keep supplies and equipment stocked for repairs.
