Job summary

Florence Unified School District No. 1 is seeking a maintenance technician to perform varied tasks in maintaining facilities, equipment, and utilities.

The role involves limited supervision and coordination by the Support Services Supervisor, with a focus on preventive maintenance and safety compliance. Responsibilities include inspections, equipment operation, and the interpretation of blueprints and codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years of work experience in a related maintenance field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Experience operating commercial equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance as directed.
• Assist in maintenance for the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Assist with inspections related to maintenance, grounds care, and custodial activities.
• Inspect work areas for hazards and report to supervisor.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics for buildings and utilities services.
• Apply and decipher National and Local codes.
• Use and demonstrate tools, equipment, and materials related to the work.
• Travel to district sites as needed.
