Job summary

Beaufort Nursing and Rehab is hiring a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to operate, maintain, and service a wide range of specialized equipment in a nursing facility. You will perform routine tasks across plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and conduct regular inspections to address issues.

You will also help with grounds maintenance, monitor supplies, and collaborate with the maintenance director to ensure the facility remains safe and well-kept.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Experience in maintenance at a long-term care facility or related field preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and independently when required.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good time management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
• Physical stamina to navigate stairs and lift/move heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and service a wide variety of specialized equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Inspect facility regularly to address maintenance issues.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas; snow removal and landscaping.
• Monitor and replenish maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance director for overall upkeep.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Report maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
• Make minor repairs on rails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, etc.
