Job summary

Pennington County SD is seeking a skilled Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician to perform repairs, maintenance, and preventive tasks across county facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Responsibilities include repairing drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, operating landscape equipment, and responding to emergencies. A valid driver's license and reliable on-call participation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum eight months experience in building maintenance or related trades.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repair tasks (drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing) using hand and power tools.
• Maintain landscape tasks including irrigation system operation and upkeep.
• Operate county vehicles and equipment, keeping shops and yards clean.
• Respond to emergencies and weather-related closures to keep facilities operational.
• Participate in on-call rotation and snow/sidewalk maintenance as needed.
