Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician II at the Gene Camp location to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across facilities and residential properties. You will ensure safety, reliability, and tenant-ready units through skilled trades across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience and relevant trade program certifications.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with four years of relevant experience; OR high school diploma with two years of relevant experience plus HVAC trade program; OR high school diploma with two years of relevant experience plus electrical trade program.
• Relevant experience includes carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, HVAC, locksmithing, troubleshooting, and general repair of residential/commercial properties and systems.
• Driver’s license: Valid California Class C Driver’s License required at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs across carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and locksmithing.
• Conduct routine facility and unit inspections to ensure safety standards and building/residential codes.
• Respond to on-site emergencies and resolve issues safely and effectively.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy with interior and exterior work (wall repairs, painting, fixtures).
• Schedule and coordinate repairs with tenants.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, and service requests.
