Job summary

State of South Dakota, through the SD Developmental Center in Redfield, SD, is seeking a skilled trades technician responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of campus mechanical infrastructure. The role ensures all building systems meet federal requirements and operate safely and reliably.

The ideal candidate will have licensed HVAC or plumbing experience, strong diagnostic abilities, and a track record with preventative maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems.
Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty water supply, waste, and vent piping networks.
Direct experience executing preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and use diagnostic tools to predict failures.

Responsibilities

Performs skilled troubleshooting and repair tasks in plumbing and HVAC.
Executes scheduled preventative maintenance protocols for plumbing and HVAC systems.
Locates problems, determines procedures, and makes repairs to restore operation cost-effectively.
