Job summary

The City of Spokane Valley is seeking a Maintenance Worker I - Facilities to perform building maintenance, grounds keeping, HVAC repair, and related upkeep across city facilities.

You will maintain safe interior and exterior conditions, supervise events on site when needed, and collaborate with other departments. A high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of maintenance experience are required; a Heating Mechanics I license is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 3–5 years in building maintenance.
• Heating Mechanics I License is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods, safety practices, and customer service.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance and repair including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work, groundskeeping, and contractor coordination.
• Ensure safe interior and exterior conditions of buildings.
• May supervise facility use during public events.
