Job summary

City of Longview is seeking a maintenance technician to join the facilities team. You will maintain and repair building systems, install fixtures, and plan maintenance projects while coordinating with tradespeople to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work, obtaining quotes, and maintaining logs. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and relevant maintenance experience, with CJIS background checks required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of building maintenance and construction experience preferred.
• NCCER certification in carpentry, electrical, plumbing or painting preferred.
• Must pass CJIS background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists in repair and maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sewers, and infrastructure.
• Installs and maintains building signs and fixtures.
• Plans maintenance projects and coordinates quotes from tradesmen.
• Supervises tradesmen for compliance and quality of work.
• Operates and maintains a variety of vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Ensures safety precautions and reports hazards or incidents.
