Job summary

The Town of West Hartford is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician I to perform cleaning, maintenance of facilities and limited grounds work. The role includes operating boilers, HVAC systems, and basic repair tasks; standard schedule is Monday through Friday with possible Tuesday–Saturday shifts.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid CT driver's license, plus a pre-employment physical and background check. Lifting up to 75 lbs and physical stamina are required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop and polish floors; wash walls, windows and woodwork.
• Operate boilers, ventilation and air conditioning systems; maintain temperatures as directed.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry tasks.
• Move furniture and set up events; replace lights and fixtures.
• Maintain supplies and equipment; ensure safety and cleanliness.
