Job summary

Knoxville's Community Development Corporation (KCDC) is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform general janitorial duties and maintain assigned buildings and grounds under supervision of the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. The role focuses on keeping common areas clean and debris-free to ensure resident, visitor, and staff safety.

Responsibilities include cleaning lobbies, offices, restrooms, leasing units, and building exteriors; operating cleaning equipment; reporting needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and minimum 1 year custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety procedures.
• Able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with staff, residents, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains lobbies, community halls, offices, and restrooms.
• Performs general cleaning of leased units as assigned.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors; uses cleaning tools and equipment.
• Polishes walls, ceilings, windows, and fixtures; applies sealers as needed.
• Maintains grounds and common areas; empties trash in assigned areas.
• Notifies supervisor of material needs, major repairs, or system additions.
• Assists with building security and office moves or setup.
• Cleans appliances and prepares housing units for painting as needed.
