Job summary

Whisperwood Nursing is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to ensure our facility remains safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents and staff.

The role involves routine maintenance, equipment upkeep, and collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor to support daily operations. A safety-focused, detail-oriented approach is essential to respond quickly to issues and uphold high standards of upkeep.

Qualifications

• Experience with building systems including HVAC, boilers, water systems, washers, dryers, and emergency generators.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance principles and routine care.
• Clear communication and ability to work well in a team.
• Safety-focused mindset and attention to detail; capable of adapting to changing facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned
• Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of facility equipment and tools
• Maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment in safe, working order
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily operations and preventative maintenance
• Ensure a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Report and respond to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner
