Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking an on-site Facilities Technician to ensure reliable building operations in the Fairfax/ DC area. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation controls while maintaining detailed CMMS records.

The role requires 2+ years in facilities maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience in facilities maintenance or related technical field.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated capacity to diagnose complex system issues.
• Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation controls according to scheduled maintenance plans while identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using appropriate tools, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques, prioritizing issues based on safety and operational impact.
• Conduct routine inspections of building systems, safety equipment, and structural components to identify potential problems before they escalate into costly repairs or safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track trends and support data-driven decision making.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, installations, and major maintenance projects, ensuring quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
