Job summary

Catholic Community Services Southwest Region in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for inspection, preventative maintenance, and repairs of CCS buildings across the Southwest region. The role will focus on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC, with records kept for service logs and inventory.

Primary duties include maintaining safety and good-working order, collaborating with a local team, and potentially traveling to Pierce County sites.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience in basic facility repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting).
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Ability to develop and maintain records of service.
• Ability to relate to a wide range of socio-economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
• Support and uphold the mission, beliefs, and values of CCS.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environments.
• Experience in customer relations (internal and external).

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds according to CCS policies and codes.
• Regular inspections of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofs, lighting).
• Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate with service vendors.
• Make minor repairs to building systems and maintain safe work areas.
• General painting and interior/exterior repairs as needed.
• Keep grounds clean and parking areas maintained.
• Maintain records of assessments, repairs, and completed tasks in the work order system.
• Coordinate with managers and facilities staff for moves and space changes.
