Job summary

Catholic Housing Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our affordable housing communities in King County, WA. This hands-on role handles building repairs, unit turnovers, preventive maintenance, and safe, clean living spaces.

You will coordinate vendors, prioritize tasks, respond to after-hours emergencies, and work with Property Managers and onsite staff to ensure a responsive, respectful service for residents.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in general building maintenance or related field.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, painting, drywall, and lock systems or ability to learn.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain work-order records.
• Valid Washington driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Advanced assignments: 3+ years maintenance experience and experience directing others preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs involving plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and locks.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents and coordinate timely unit turnovers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and monitor building systems and equipment.
• Maintain common areas, building exteriors, grounds, and overall property appearance.
• Respond to emergencies to help prevent damage or safety concerns.
• Track work orders, preventive maintenance, supplies, and activities.
• Coordinate with Property Management, residents, vendors, and staff to address maintenance needs.
• May help schedule work, coordinate vendors, manage priorities, and provide direction to other maintenance staff.
