Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College Hamilton County is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Team. The role includes maintenance, safety, sanitation, and grounds tasks across college buildings and equipment in Hamilton County.

Responsibilities include responding to work orders, operating HVAC systems, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with safety inspections. Weekend and off-shift availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Read and follow manufacturer instructions.
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Operate and repair equipment as needed.
• Computer skills including MS Office.
• Able to plan and estimate time and materials.
• Must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned work orders promptly and update the system.
• Assist in operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and document reports.
• Assist with safety inspections and key systems management.
• Maintain clean and secure facilities and respond to alarms.
• Open/close buildings and move equipment as needed.
• Support installation of plumbing, electrical, and lighting components.
• Assist in construction tasks like drywall, painting, and flooring.
