Job summary

Hamilton County is seeking a Groundskeeper to oversee a comprehensive grounds maintenance program, operate equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with building upkeep. Responsibilities include budget preparations, inventory management, and coordination with vendors.

A strong focus on safety and attendance is expected. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of grounds keeping experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Three years experience in grounds keeping and commercial mowing.
• Advanced knowledge of grounds keeping duties and equipment.
• Facilities maintenance techniques, construction materials and tools.
• Functional supervision experience.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor.
• Equivalent combination of training and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Implements grounds maintenance program; maintains grounds and operates equipment.
• Performs building facilities maintenance and semi-skilled construction tasks.
• Assists with annual grounds budget and inventory management.
• Maintains records and communicates with suppliers and vendors.
• May travel to various County facilities as assigned; demonstrates regular attendance.
