Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis Campus is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on the Downtown Campus. The role includes PM work, responding to work orders, and maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and other systems.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in commercial maintenance, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years in commercial maintenance or related field.
• Trade school certificate or journeyman licensure preferred.
• Experience with low-voltage cables and BICSI certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and address issues with building components and FF&E.
• PM tasks, tool and material management, and coordination with vendors.
• Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Assist in on-call maintenance rotation and adhere to FERPA/regulatory standards.
• Read instructions, use hand/power tools, and support campus facilities.
• Travel between campus buildings as needed with reimbursement.
