Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a general maintenance worker to inspect and maintain facilities, grounds, and equipment across multiple sites. Training will be provided to follow safety policies and operate various tools.

Key responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, and supporting events. A high school diploma or equivalent is acceptable, with willingness to travel and learn new skills. Benefits include comprehensive plans and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general maintenance practices.
• Ability to use electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a general maintenance person to inspect and maintain facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform routine carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Ensure all employees are trained to operate equipment and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Direct, assist, and support recreational events as needed.
• Assist with purchasing and inventory of supplies and repair parts.
• Maintain major and minor equipment, vehicles, and vessels repairs.
• Maintain grounds including mowing, weeding, aerating, spraying, fertilizing, and tree work.
• Maintain roads including painting, snow plowing, sanding, and salting, repaving, or repairs.
• Provide public safety on property and assist in emergencies.
• Assist law enforcement with investigations on properties.
• May assist wildlife resource management.
• Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s).
