Job summary

Jackson County, WI is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties across county buildings including the Animal Shelter, Courthouse, Jail, and health services facilities.

The role requires operating floor care equipment, basic HVAC/plumbing/electrical repairs, and snow removal, with shifts including evenings, holidays, and some weekends; drivers license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general maintenance and cleaning procedures and supplies.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment and routine building and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform floors cleaning: scrubbing, mopping, waxing, polishing, and vacuuming with appropriate equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Clean walls, windows, fixtures, lavatories and other facilities using cleaning agents; maintain cleanliness of rooms and hallways.
• Paint rooms and ceilings; work from ladders where needed.
• Dust and polish furniture; wash windows; follow MSDS for chemical use.
• Perform routine HVAC maintenance and minor repairs; address basic plumbing and electrical issues.
• Maintain and repair buildings, vehicles, and equipment; perform monthly system tests (fire alarms, extinguishers, alarms).
• Assist with security drills and various remodeling projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
