Job summary

TeamGOV in Topeka, KS is seeking a Facilities General Maintenance Worker to support operation and maintenance services at the Federal Building. The role requires a minimum of 4 years' experience in general maintenance across painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

The ideal candidate will handle electrical work, wall repairs, plumbing tasks, painting, door installations, and routine HVAC-related maintenance as part of a broader facility management team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in general maintenance and repair of building equipment.
• Experience in painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work or similar trades.
• HVAC repair and maintenance experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Painting floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hanging doors and installing locks.
• Replacing broken windowpanes and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Experience in commercial HVAC repair and maintenance of mechanical building systems including PM's, routine service calls and overall facility maintenance highly desired.
