Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform a range of building and grounds maintenance tasks, including furniture care, Snow removal, and setting up conference spaces. The role runs Monday through Friday, 06:00am to 2:30pm, with potential travel to other sites in the Metro East region.

You will work with hand and power tools, handle light electrical duties, and assist with cleaning and AV setup. A high school diploma and valid Minnesota license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; computer skills to schedule work.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Available for emergency call-out and overtime.
• Knowledge of hand tools and small hand-held power tools.
• Valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
• Able to work from ladders, scaffolding, and in high/confined spaces.
• Able to lift 60 pounds safely.
• Forklift certification required.
• Duties include changing light bulbs and general maintenance.
• Operate power sweeper, snow blower, and lawn equipment.
• Two years of formal education in building maintenance or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor building maintenance and repairs, furniture and furniture systems, grounds keeping duties, snow removal, cleaning, and setting up conference rooms and AV equipment.
• Change light bulbs and operate related equipment.
• Travel to other sites within the Metro East region as needed.
