Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. is seeking a Facilities Serviceperson for the Newport Service Center in Newport, MN. The role includes building maintenance, furniture and grounds upkeep, snow removal, and conference room setup with AV equipment.

Work hours are Monday–Friday 06:00am–2:30pm with potential site travel within the Metro East region. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, strong communication and mechanical skills, and the ability to lift 60 pounds.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to schedule work via facilities services system.
Must have high mechanical aptitude.
Must be available for emergency call-out for overtime.
Must have working knowledge of hand tools and small power tools.
Must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
Must work from ladders, scaffolding and in high/confined areas.
Must lift 60 pounds safely.
Forklift certification may be required.
Must perform duties like changing light bulbs, minor maintenance/repairs, furniture movement, grounds keeping, dock operations and cleaning.
Must operate power sweeper, snow blower and lawn equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform minor building maintenance and repairs, furniture systems, grounds keeping, snow removal, some cleaning and conference room setup with AV equipment.
Set up conference rooms and audio/visual equipment; change light bulbs.
Travel to other sites within the Metro East region may be required.
