Job summary

The Town of Ashland is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee cleanliness, sanitation, safety and maintenance of town facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment. The role involves monitoring inventories, facility rentals and HVAC systems within Town Properties.

Primary duties include custodial and maintenance tasks such as responding to work orders, performing cleaning services, snow removal and aiding the Public Building Supervisor in coordinating contractors and inspections.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and 1–3 years of experience in maintenance and custodial work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and experience in snow removal operations preferred.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work, be self-motivated, and perform multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests.
• Perform cleaning services in assigned buildings and snow removal.
• Assist with hiring contractors and overseeing subcontractors.
• Coordinate inspections and track equipment expirations.
• Operate light to medium construction equipment and perform minor repairs.
