Job summary

The Town of Ashland seeks a Facilities Custodian who maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, security, safety and maintenance of the assigned facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment. The employee monitors supply and equipment inventories, facility rentals, and HVAC systems within the Town Properties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of maintenance and custodial experience preferred.
• Must fluently speak, write, and read English.
• Valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and custodial duties in assigned buildings.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders; escalate as needed.
• Perform minor installations, repairs and lighting changes; assist with life-safety devices.
• Assist with inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report low stock.
• Operate light to medium construction equipment as required for maintenance tasks.
• Prepare for meetings and events; arrange furniture and equipment accordingly.
• Remove snow and ice and ensure safe entry to town buildings.
